Art and Culture Itinerary

Culture, Craft and Cocktails

Do you need a getaway to explore creativity and heritage with a little bit of indulgence thrown in? This is the trip for you. Read below and add this itinerary to your trip!

DAY 1

Grab some freshly baked scones from one of the many Berry cafes before your resin art or macrame workshop at This Old House. There is a great range of workshops that you can book in advance. Explore the historic grounds of Coolangatta Estate in Shoalhaven Heads. Be sure to taste some wines and local produce whilst you are there. Let your hair down at Blow Bar on Queen (in Berry) with shampoos, upstyles, cocktails and laughs.

DAY 2

Have a leisurely breaky at one of Nowra’s great cafes or a quick coffee from Hyper Hyper or the Bearded Brewer. Next check out the Shoalhaven Regional Gallery, and Meroogal (on a Saturday) for a full morning in town. Alternatively, head out to Bundanon and take a tour of Arthur Boyd’s studio, followed by a picnic by the river. Head further down the coast to Jervis Bay and enjoy a cocktail at Wild Ginger. Or perhaps have a taste of the many Southeast Asian dishes they offer. Have a sundowner at the Gunyah Restaurant at Paperbark Camp in Huskisson. Here you’ll be treated to an ambient candlelit dinner amongst the treetops, perfect for a romantic night out.

DAY 3

Browse the lovely vintage stores and historic buildings of the heritage-listed town of Milton. The monthly village art and craft markets are an excellent way to immerse yourself in Milton’s local culture. Millhouse Gallery and other artisan co-ops in Courtyard Studio are a great place to shop for unique souvenirs. Have a leisurely lunch in Milton town, before working your way through the cocktail menu at Altar Wine Bar or catching a gig at Milton Theatre.
