Learn about the ancient Japanese technique of fabric wrapping & tying and reduce waste!
Furoshiki is the Japanese art of fabric wrapping and tying and is what was traditionally used prior to the proliferation of plastic bags.
Furoshiki perfectly embraces the 4R’s of sustainability: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Respect and is a lovely, no waste alternative to wrapping paper. As fabric comes in so many beautiful colours and patterns it provides you with the perfect opportunity to “shoosh” up your gift and add a personal touch! Best of all, the recipient is able to reuse the fabric!
During this 90 minute workshop you will learn how to tie your own no sew shopping bag. You will also learn the technique of wrapping various items such as books, bottles and boxes. Never use wrapping paper again!
