Legacy of Lines – Bundanon Series was developed during a residency at Bundanon in November 2024 and explores themes of personal growth, resilience, and the challenges of mobility in life and art. Carly Marchment’s work uses simplicity and abstraction to highlight the artist’s perseverance in overcoming physical barriers. Drawing from her journey with Progressive Neuromuscular Disease, her art fosters a deep connection with the disability community. Each drawing is infused with raw emotion and psychological depth, achieved through dynamic mark-making that adapts traditional drawing techniques to the artist’s physical needs.
Carly Marchment is based in Crescent Head, NSW, and has a Bachelor Visual Arts in Fine Art Griffith University. Marchment identifies as a disabled artist and is living with Progressive Neuromuscular Disease. Her work explores themes of discrimination and connection as she invites viewers to reflect and engage.
