The success of any collaboration is dependent on a myriad of factors, some obvious, others less tangible. Sharon & Slava Grigoryan are an example of such a synergy, resulting in music that connects deeply with the listener. Their repertoire spans cultures, generations, and genres – from standard works for guitar and cello (Vivaldi, Granados, Piazzolla) to creations by contemporary composers, their own compositions and arrangements that shine a new light on familiar favourites.
Slava Grigoryan is an acknowledged guitar master on the world stage. Sharon Grigoryan has forged a formidable career throughout Australia performing with all major symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles, including her seven-year tenure with the Australian String Quartet.
Sharon & Slava Grigoryan’s debut album ‘Our Place’ (ABC) was nominated for Best Classical Album at the 2020 ARIA Awards.
