Many of our cafes and restaurants pride themselves in being part of the Earth to Table movement, where ingredients are sourced from local providores with a high level of food traceability. Menus are constantly changing due to seasonal availability, ensuring that you only eat the very best produce our farmers have to offer. The region is well known for its amazingly fresh seafood and a selection of boutique eateries that beautifully capture the essence of paddock to plate. St Isidore, Milton
A simple and elegant one-hatted restaurant that is nestled among green grass as far as the eye can see. St Isidore combines a low-key, relaxed atmosphere with dishes that will please the finest of diners. Chef Alex Delly's food is contemporary and packed with flavour. The menu is centred around produce that is grown on-site in St Isidore's very own market garden. Seasonality is key to crafting a selection of unique dishes that include buttermilk fried quail and black barley risotto. On Thursday nights, the restaurant offers a $60pp Local’s Night menu of antipasti to share, one choice of main and one choice of dessert.
Tallwood has become a quite a local hot spot for great food, coffee and wine. Owners Clayton Till and Matt Upson recognised Mollymook as an up and coming foodie destination and decided to bring their expertise to the area. The kitchen sources almost every ingredient on the changing menu locally. Fish and oysters are bought from various locations down the South Coast and meat from the surrounding hinterland. Mushrooms are a specialty in the area and Tallwood sources them from award winning Shoalhaven Mushrooms in Termeil and Milton Mushrooms.
South On Albany, Berry
South On Albany is situated amongst premium wine and farming country in Berry. Their menu is small and changes regularly to feature the freshest ingredients cooked with a creative European influence. Dishes include local snapper, kingfish and oysters from Greenwell Point as well as free range pork from Nowra Hill. South On Albany also gets much of their produce direct from locals in Berry, picked from their very own home gardens.
Milk Haus, Milton
Tucked behind the beautiful hills of Milton lies widely acclaimed wholefoods cafe, Milk Haus. Located within an old cheese factory with views of the garden, it is a picturesque location to spend a morning. Ex-Canberra restaurateur, Danielle McKeon created a veggie garden and chicken coop next to the cafe, that is perfectly perched on an old farm. You can even watch ingredients being picked and then cooked in the open kitchen. It doesn’t get much fresher than that! The Milk Haus menu is fresh, healthy and modern - changing constantly with the seasons so there's always something new to try.
Many of the local towns in the Shoalhaven were originally settled as fishing villages and have maintained their reputation as some of the best spots on the coast for fishing. In particular, Greenwell Point is famous for having some of the biggest and best oysters on the coast due to its location where the Shoalhaven and Crookhaven rivers flow down from the Great Dividing Range and meet the ocean. You can try the oysters direct from the growers on the riverbank at Greenwell point from Kingtide Oysters, Shoalhaven Oyster Service, Jim Wild’s Oyster Service, Newnham Oysters and Comerong Bay Oysters. Alternatively you can have Greenwell Point oysters served to you at local restaurants and wineries such as Wharf Rd in Nowra, Silos in Berry or Coolangatta Estate, paired with local wine to match.
Part of the Shoalhaven’s charm is being able to stumble upon farm gate sellers as you explore the many towns and villages. Stock up on honesty boxes of fresh eggs in Terara, as well as sweet and lovely jams. A famous highway find is the fresh stonefruit from Martin's Orchard in Wandanian. Last but not least, The Olive Farm in Falls Creek is well worth a visit too.

We began our horticultural journey as growers of stonefruit and cherries in Young, NSW. Progressing into sales, we moved to Nowra, on the southcoast of NSW.
We are a family business that pride ourselves on top quality meats. We have a great range of hormone free, grass fed and organic meat.
