Bomaderry is located on the northern side of the Shoalhaven River, just four kilometres from Nowra. Its name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning “fighting ground” or “running water”, reflecting the area’s cultural and natural heritage.

Established in the late 1800s and laid out by David Berry, Bomaderry has remained a thriving township supported by strong infrastructure and local businesses.

Today, it serves as an important transport hub as the terminus of the South Coast railway line, with connecting bus services linking passengers to towns throughout the Shoalhaven and as far south as Eden.

A popular local attraction is the Bomaderry Creek Walk, which follows the creek through natural surroundings and offers both short and longer walking options, ideal for a relaxed outdoor experience.
