Bendeela is a rustic camping and picnic ground set in natural bushland on the banks of the Kangaroo River arm of Lake Yurunga, near Kangaroo Valley village. The site is designated "Special Area" due to its closeness to the Shoalhaven water supply, and is managed by the Sydney Catchment Authority. Picnic and camping sites are available on a first in first served basis and cannot be reserved. Wombats are often seen in this beautiful area. There is no township in Bendeela, the nearest town is just ten minutes drive away in Kangaroo Valley.
