Welcome back. Your SMALL break can make a BIG contribution after the South Coast bushfires.
Along with many areas of New South Wales and Victoria, the Shoalhaven has recently experienced bushfires in December 2019 and early January 2020. Many Shoalhaven businesses are able to thrive thanks to you, our wonderful visitors, and we're hoping you can take a break in the Shoalhaven this year. For many city folk, the Shoalhaven is home away from home, a place to escape and unwind, where friendly faces greet you on a white sand beach and baristas remember how you like your coffee.
Your South Coast holiday will help to rejuvenate your soul and our wonderful local communities.
Welcome back, we're delighted to have you.

Before your South Coast Holiday...
Please be aware that parts of our beautiful region have been impacted directly or indirectly by the bushfires and will take time to recover. There may be ash on beaches or in the bushland and some forest areas you may have liked to visit might be closed. The scenery you will discover might be a little different, but this is the beauty of regeneration. You will experience this lovely sense of rebirth throughout your holiday, it is everywhere: on the faces of locals, in the natural landscape, and in the sounds of animals who are coming out to play.
Our businesses are operating and looking forward to welcoming you with that top Shoalhaven hospitality!
You can see areas which were impacted here, Please make sure to double-check your route on livetraffic.com (Mobile | Desktop) and keep updated on your destination's current activity via the RFS Fires Near Me App, website or Bushfire Information Line 1800 679 737.
During your South Coast Holiday...
Visit our villages along the way and grab a snack or a gift, book a table at our restaurants and cafes and indulge in our amazing food and wine. Hang out with the locals on a winery or adventure tour, and check out our events for farmers markets, live gigs, and celebrations. Most of our beaches are just as gorgeous as always, and you can explore them on the 100 Beach Challenge. Most of all, tag @VisitShoalhaven in your #RejuvenateShoalhaven pics.

Looking for other ways to help with the bushfire relief effort?
Many people across the country and the world have been asking how they can help in this situation. Even if you can't take a Shoalhaven holiday just yet, you can still support our communities directly by ordering some of your favourite Shoalhaven wine, purchasing skincare from local boutiques, buying homewares from our many retailers, or grabbing a bunch of gift vouchers for local businesses for your friends.
You can also take part in the @spendwiththem initiative, an Instagram campaign established by South Coast locals Turia Pitt and Grace McBride in order to encourage people to buy local products from bushfire-affected areas to help people get back on their feet. You can also find amazing gift ideas on #buyfromthebush.
