Surf, fish, walk your dog, fly kites and visit local wineries at Shoalhaven Heads on the picturesque South Coast of NSW.
Shoalhaven Heads NSW is the most northern coastal town of the Shoalhaven. With its direct access to Seven Mile Beach, it is a great spot for surfing, kite-surfing and fishing. It is also a great base to explore the nearby wineries located around Coolangatta mountain and the surrounding foothills. There aren’t many places you can be indulging at a local winery one minute, and relaxing on the beach ten minutes later!
WHAT TO DO IN Shoalhaven Heads
Kite-flying on the sand dunes at the southern end of the beach is a fun activity for both kids and adults alike. With 24hr off-leash areas on Seven Mile Beach, take your dog for a playful walk along the beach and for a dip in the waves. There are three boat launching facilities on the Shoalhaven River at Shoalhaven Heads, however beach fishing is very popular too. Facilities include the Bowling & Recreation Club, Hotel, Golf Club and local shops. The regional centre of Nowra is a pleasant 20 minute drive south-west, while the leafy boutique town of Berry is a ten minute drive north-west. Accommodation is available in the many caravan parks and self-contained houses or at the Heads Hotel.
