WHAT TO DO IN Mogood
A visit to the Clyde River Berry Farm in Mogood is a great day out for kids and kids at heart. Set on a scenic mountain top, pick your own blueberries on the farm and feast on your fresh mouth-watering selections, maybe even share them around if there’s any left! The farm was established in 1982 as one of Australia’s earliest blueberry plantings due to the ideal soil, climate and abundant water supply. The farm also produces other mixed berries, delicious jams and honey and you can’t leave without trying their famous blueberry icecream – definitely worth the 12km dirt road journey to reach the farm.
Once you are all berried out, continue down the road through the farming community of Brooman and onto Shallow Crossing for a refreshing dip and a picnic lunch in the bushland. Please be aware that road access can be impacted by tides and high rainfall.
There is bush camping available at Shallow Crossing Campground, with basic amenities. Enjoy a campfire here with mates or the family and have some fun canoeing, riding, swimming and relaxing.
For those who prefer their creature comforts, The Escape at Shallow Crossing is a magic and tranquil glamping retreat. Do as much or as little as you like. Enjoy a massage or kayak along the Clyde River. Take a walk and explore the amazing surroundings or soak them up while enjoying a delicious meal which will leave you raving (as if you weren’t already!).
