WHAT TO DO IN Pyree
The Jindyandy Shops at Pyree are a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon, with a delicious cafe, restaurant, specialty shops, and a scrapbooking superstore to explore. Local accommodation can be found in cottages, or nearby at the fishing town of Greenwell Point. Sitting between Pyree and the Shoalhaven River, Numbaa is the site of the Shoalhaven’s first farm. A short drive along from Numbaa you will come to the fascinating and historic Comerong Island. Comerong Island is predominantly a nature reserve, with a winding dirt road leading to the southern end of the sweeping Seven Mile Beach, which is part of the island. Its two picnic areas provide access to both the ocean beach and estaury areas. Access to the island is by car ferry, which runs daily (except the first Tuesday in the month) and costs $10.
