Wandandian

Wandandian is a village in the Shoalhaven on the NSW South Coast. Enjoy the peaceful bushland setting and if you come in summer don't miss the Martin's Orchard peaches.

Wandandian NSW is a small village on the Princes Highway between St Georges Basin and Sussex Inlet. If you time it right you might catch the annual Wandandian Wood Chop Competition which brings the community together and showcases the strong and skilled woodchoppers from the region every October. Every summer Martin’s Orchard open up their roadside stall where they sell their delightful peaches and other juicy fruits. The smaller village of Bewong nearby offers a unique rural ambience, nestled amongst the lush coastal temperate forest.

WHAT TO DO IN Wandandian

Close by Jerrawangala National Park is located along the Turpentine Range which is part of the Great Eastern Escarpment. Jerrawangala Lookout offers breathtaking views that take in the expanse of Gerringong in the north, to Ulladulla in the south. These types of vantage points were used by Aboriginal people to send messages and a number of Aboriginal campsites have been recorded within the park along with a tool-making site and a scarred tree. The park is dominated by low to medium forests of scribbly gums and red bloodwoods. Early spring brings out stunning wildflowers, with their sweet nectar attracting birds such as eastern spinebills and New Holland honeyeaters. The park is popular with mountain biking enthusiasts who enjoy exploring the trails of the nearby Yerriyong State Forest.
