A holiday is the perfect time to go and try that new creative thing. You can take a break from the craziness of everyday life and really take a moment to explore all those activities you've always wanted to do. We have many different workshops, classes and talks happening all year-round and there's something there for every member of the family.
Create some handmade magic with the team at The Mud Shed in Bomaderry or learn traditional Aboriginal basket weaving with Diedre of Bugiya Naway Buradja in Jervis Bay. We also have many other boutiques and venues hosting a variety of hands-on workshops that will inspire your creativity. Shop for quilting supplies or take a class at either Jukejema in Nowra and Quilt & Co in Berry. A short stroll around the corner also lies This Old House Studio, which offers up many fun mosaic, furniture and macramé workshops in addition to a beautiful shop space that focuses on sustainable and eco-friendly products.
For anyone who wants to treat their sweet tooth, book in for a delicious chocolate making workshop at Milton Chocolate Cottages or during the holidays for the kids at The Treat Factory in Berry. The young ones will also love letting their imaginations run wild at a clowning, drama or theatre class at Livewire Studios in Ulladulla or a hands-on crafternoon filled with drawing, painting or ceramics at House of Jules in Milton. (They have a variety of courses for adults too!) At Bonza Beads in Nowra, you can stock up on a variety of loose beads and also learn bracelet and necklace making during the holidays and our four Shoalhaven Libraries all also offer great holiday activities such as kids’ art classes plus local heritage and author talks. You will probably need to book, so look out online for dates and times!
